Towards the end of 2024, George Kamel, a financial expert, perhaps the best known for his contributions to Ramsey Solutions, the brand of Dave Ramsey, noticed that someone at the Subreddit #Frugal asked the following question: “Are there things you stopped buying to save money?” In a recent video on his YouTube channel of the same name, Kamel went through a dozen of the answers that attracted his attention.

“There were more reactions than there were crypto bross in a crossfit -sports school,” said Kamel. He specified 12 things that some economical people said they stopped buying in 2024. Does Kamel think that throwing away these purchases is the right decision?

Kamel approves the throwing of plastic containers and choosing glass, which last longer, is more sustainable and absorbs no odors or stains. Moreover, it is simply less ick inducing than plastic.

Another plastic product that fuel -efficient people dumped in 2024. Kamel admitted that he still needs to be completely abandoned to buy bottled water. He pointed out that buying an inverted Osmosis filtration system, that someone who stopped bottling water, can restore you thousands of dollars. Kamel then calculated the mathematical advantages and disadvantages of publishing so much versus spending on water bottle and concluded that this is not an economical hack, but still one that is worth it if you can afford it.
