In round three of the targeted health of health 250 xfinity series Race on the Circuit of Americas, Carson Hoecevar becomes the first driver to get stuck in the tire barrier that dictates the first turn of the new Cota -Lay -Out.
Hecevar came in turn 6a and walked ahead of Jeb Burton’s number 27 when he was bent in the left and finished with his nose filled in the tires. Hoecevar could not communicate with his team and did not know the extent of the damage. Because this was a one-off race for Hoecevar in a team with a “tight budget”, Hoecevar decided that it was best to be dragged behind the wall, which returned his Xfinity series.
“Once we were in the tire barrier, it was ready,” Hoecevar told CW Sports. “I may have been able to continue, but I wanted to mistaken caution.”
Last fall, NASCAR announced that it shortened the course for the Xfinity Series and Cup Series Races in Cota from 3.4 to 2.4 miles, cuts 7 to 11 and created a hard cut of the new 6a to 6B that immediately touches the back for the old turn 12, which is the new bend 7.
This year’s trophy for the Cup Race has imposed the new song on the out track.
The field could avoid the Trouble Corner for the rest of the first phase. A caution for a jammed car brought the second yellow of the race to the front and the first phase ended for caution. Shortly thereafter the racelider, Connor Zilian, turned to the pits, but he did not get it before caution and was hit with a racing-changing penalty for the easy favorite. Cup series Livestocks William Byron and Ross Chastain Leiden the field.
